Comprehensive School Mental Health

Child Psycholgist

Comprehensive school mental health systems provide an array of supports and services that promote positive school climate, social and emotional learning, and mental health and well-being, while reducing the prevalence and severity of mental illness
(Advancing Comprehensive School Mental Health Systems, 2019).

According to the National Association of School Psychologists, comprehensive school mental and behavioral health services support the mission and purpose of schools: learning. All services provided in schools should be appropriate to the learning environment; those that are not risk being ineffective or even counterproductive (NASP, 2021).
